CCL’s emissions initiatives validated by SBTi

CCL Industries Inc. commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 50% by 2030 from a 2022 base year.

CCL Industries Inc., a global leader in specialty label, security and packaging solutions, has announced that the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) validated the company’s science-based greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets conform with the SBTi Standards and Guidance (Criteria version 5.1) and the SBTi Corporate Net-Zero Standards and Guidance. 

The company’s validated near- and long-term science-based target (SBT) language is as follows: 

Near-Term 

CCL Industries Inc. commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 50% by 2030 from a 2022 base year. Plus, CCL Industries Inc. commits that 75% of suppliers by emissions and 20% of customers by revenue will have set SBTs by 2029. 

Long-Term 

CCL Industries Inc. commits to reduce absolute Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions 90% by 2050 from a 2022 base year. 

CCL provides label solutions to the home and personal care, premium food and beverage, healthcare and specialty, automotive and durables, and consumer markets worldwide. The company is divided into four reporting segments: CCL Label, CCL Container, Avery and Checkpoint.
